Everybody has a mother.  Every body has a mother body who carried them in the womb.  Some folks have more than one mother.  Some have birth mothers, adoptive mothers, honorary mothers, “found” mothers.  The Maeteum honors mothers and every body who has one (or more).  The Maetreum honors the Great Mother, the Great Goddess, the very Matrix of existence.  And the Maetreum honors the ancient Anatolian goddess Cybele, born as the hermaphrodite Ageists and castrated by the gods to become the goddess Cybele.
